tutionai ("we", "us") is a daily-practice and tuition-management app for Maharashtra State Board (MSBSHSE) 11th and 12th Physics and Chemistry students and teachers. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

1. Who this applies to

This policy covers everyone using tutionai: tuition teachers, their students (including minors), and parents of students.

2. What we collect

• Account details: your name and role (teacher or student), created when you join.
• Classroom data: class name, standard, subject and the topics a teacher marks as taught.
• Learning data: answers given, question-level timings, streaks, XP, hint usage and topic mastery scores.
• Engagement signals: whether you switch away from the app mid-question (tab blur) — used only to flag guessing or distraction to the teacher.

We do not collect your phone contacts, location, photos, or information about your device's other apps. We do not post anything anywhere.

3. Signup form data

When you request pilot onboarding through this website, we store your name, tuition/class name, city, phone number and role for the sole purpose of contacting you about the pilot. It is never sold or shared with any third party for marketing.

4. Students under 18

Most of our students are under 18. Teachers create classes and share join codes; students join through their tuition. Parents who want their child's data deleted may contact us at any time at the email below and it will be removed.

5. What we do NOT do

• We never sell or rent your data. Ever.
• We never show third-party advertising based on your data.
• We never publish per-question answer dumps of a student to anyone outside the class.

6. What teachers see

Teachers can see, for their own class: topic understanding percentages against what they taught, class rankings, and aggregate effort signals. Teachers cannot see other schools' classes.

7. AI processing

We use AI providers to (a) generate the question bank in advance and (b) grade free-form short answers against a rubric. Short-answer submissions are processed only for grading and are not used to train public models.

8. Deletion

• You can delete your account and learning history at any time by writing to us.
• When a class is deleted by the teacher, all linked student, enrollment and learning data for that class is removed.

9. Security

Data is stored with a managed database provider using encrypted connections, and access is restricted per-user with row-level security. Only the deployed app backend and class members can see a class's data.
